The first day of the competition was dedicated to cinematography. The well-known compositions from favorite Russian and foreign films sounded from the stage. The audience was nostalgic to hits from such films as "White Sun of the Desert", "Diamond Hand", "Friend", "Soul", "Pulp Fiction", "Ordinary Space" and many others.
It is symbolic that the master of Russian cinema Nikita Mikhalkov became the host of the evening. The venerable director, of course, is closer to film screenings, but this time he decided to accept the new rules of the game and delighted the audience with an excellent performance of the composition "Parting" from his film "Burnt by the Sun".
During a conversation with the audience, Nikita Sergeevich noted that Russian cinema is gradually developing and even advised viewers to watch several worthy, in his opinion, premieres.
"Moving Up" is coming out soon. This is a stunning film about the 1972 Olympics, the film sister of the legendary # 17 you know. Such films must be watched, ”the director noted.
And while top artists replaced each other on stage one by one, life was in full swing behind the scenes of the competition. While the contestants modestly posed for the photographers, the correspondents tried to intercept the pop stars rushing to the stage.
On the red carpet that evening it was as crowded as always. Philip Kirkorov, Sergey Lazarev, Dima Bilan, Yulianna Karaulova, Alsou, Aleksey Vorobyov, Lipa, Irina Dubtsova, Alexander Rosenbaum, Timur Rodriguez and other celebrities shared their impressions, recalled "New Wave" in previous years and answered the most tricky questions.
So, for example, Philip Kirkorov, whom the journalists did not release for an indecently long time, talked about preparing for New Year's performances, as well as why he chooses the most shocking outfits for his shows, and why he brought a whole bus with concert costumes to the competition.
“You need to be fully armed: to match the mood, weather, scenery, light. Large festivals are the work of a huge number of people: stylists, make-up artists, directors and, of course, mine as a performer. Pick up a good one nice clothes- this is also work. In order to go on stage every time and match the image, you need skill. Therefore, I am armed to the teeth: I come to the competition not with a small suitcase, but as it should be. Everything for the audience. They should rejoice and discuss, ”says the singer.
On this day, the King of the national stage appeared in front of the journalists not alone: he brought the whole family to the "New Wave". It was not without intrigue: Kirkorov surprised the fans by announcing that he was preparing a surprise for the contestants and spectators together with his children, Martin and Alla-Victoria.
However, the main characters that evening were the contestants. This year, 14 participants from 9 countries have made it to the final. On the first day of the competition, they had to surprise the authoritative jury by performing compositions from popular films.

One of the brightest performances of the first day of the competition was the performance of Sardor Milano. This guy was remembered by many back in 2015 as the winner of the musical talent show "Main Stage". In 2016, the singer from Uzbekistan reminded of himself by becoming a finalist of the Voice program.
Sardor continues to storm Russian show business. On "New Wave" he performed the composition of Lucho Dalla "In Memory of Caruso", showing an extraordinary vocal range. Many have already heard this song performed by him on the "Voice" show. The judges were unanimous: Milano started with a maximum of 11 points from each member of the jury.
In general, the second day of the competition was held in an even more relaxed atmosphere. Guests, artists and contestants have already managed to get used to it a little, to join the working rhythm and feel the warm atmosphere of hospitable Sochi. Looking at what is happening behind the scenes, we can already say that over the course of the competition week, everyone involved in the "New Wave-2017" will become one big family.
The festival in Sochi was held for the third time, and for the first time a concert venue was located in Adler. So the stars were scattered along the Black Sea coast. Who settled in central Sochi, who is closer to the New Wave Hall, where the performances took place. We met at rehearsals, concerts or parties after them. But each star has its own schedule: who came for a day or two, and who was from the beginning to the final. Therefore, the number of things is different for everyone.
Distinguished himself Philip Kirkorov: “I brought 26 suitcases of clothes to the international festival“ New Wave ”. How else? I have to surprise the audience, give them the opportunity to discuss me, my images. Therefore, he armed himself, as they say, to the teeth. The costume should correspond not only to me, but also to a certain song, weather, scenery.
Burst, but keep the style - the motto of the pop king of the national stage. The artist appeared on the stage of the Sochi New Wave Hall every day, and on September 12 he became the main star of the evening. At a special tribute concert in honor of the artist's half-century anniversary, Philip's star colleagues and friends sang his songs. The host of the evening told about each composition the story of its creation, and then he sang 11 of his songs himself, changing his outfits every few minutes. It was going to be midnight, but to be ready to go out on the red carpet, I always need two hours.

I have one suitcase with me, and one that I don't have to check in as my luggage. - said Alexey Vorobyov... - There are always two white shirts, two black suits, a pair of shorts, two pairs of shoes, a few T-shirts, socks - everything is very simple. Five minutes is enough for me to get ready.
One of the concerts was called "Cinema Day". Traditionally, the host of this evening was Nikita Mikhalkov... He arrived in Sochi with his wife.
This time we have Nikita Sergeevich - the main character. I didn't bring young designers, so there was no show. Therefore, there are fewer worries and fewer fees, - explained Tatyana Evgenievna. - Those who are involved in fashion usually dress very simply. Pay attention to what the designers come out in at the end of the show: T-shirt and jeans. They need a minimum of things for life, they probably get tired of fashion. So one outfit for the evening and a couple of everyday things is enough for me. Everything fits into one suitcase.

But just in case. Suddenly it will tear or someone in the service will put the stain or burn it. Usually I throw socks with me chaotically, excuse me. I just shovel in the box. I stayed in Adler. To drive every day from Sochi in the heat - you will plant your voice. I need to take care of him, - explained Lolita... - It takes me two minutes to get ready for such trips. Creative evenings dedicated to one artist became a good tradition on the "New Wave" many years ago. One of the brightest such shows - in honor of Alla Pugacheva - passed in Jurmala in 2014. The next year, already in Sochi, Valeria Leontyev. And last year, celebrities for the songs of Oleg Gazmanov.
This year, Philip Kirkorov celebrates his 50th birthday, so the New Wave Hall stage rightfully belongs to him. The artist has already been congratulated in the Kremlin and at many other venues in the country, but, as they say, there is never too much of a holiday. Not only his fellow artists will rise to the stage of the "New Wave" with the main hits of Kirkorov: Svetlana Loboda, Sergey Lazarev, Laima Vaikule, Zara, Polina Gagarina, Valery Meladze, Vera Brezhneva, Ani Lorak, Grigory Leps and others, but also his the closest people are father Bedros Kirkorov and children - Martin and Alla-Victoria. There is no doubt that the life of the children of Philip Kirkorov will be associated with creativity. Alla-Victoria is a born artist: she does not stand still for a minute, does not let the microphone out of her hands and sings louder than the phonogram show director). Martin behaves a little less confidently in public, Philip every now and then has to take him by the hand and guide him on stage.
In between runs, Alla-Victoria and Martin frolic, run, play - behave like ordinary children. With only one note: in plain sight and under the incessant sounds of camera clicks. The proposal to hold a tribute evening to Kirkorov on the "New Wave" came from Igor Krutoy a year ago, and since then he has been actively pondering this idea - discussing their future numbers with colleagues, preparing his own speech. Before each number, the singer will tell the story of the song's creation and remember the touching and funny stories from my life.
This song, like no other, personifies my state of mind at the age of 27. It was a crazy life. The song "Birdie" is loved by all viewers. And to this day I remember how a video was created for her. The shooting was difficult, but Alla supported me in everything. She gave advice and, in fact, was my first producer. The song came out, and everyone took it as an appeal to Alla. And so it was. I really love to take part in creative evenings, because this is an opportunity to make a new reading of the hit that has long been loved by the audience. Philip sent each artist about 10-15 songs to choose from, but after that, as he himself admitted, he did not listen to new arrangements - he left himself the opportunity to see a surprise. It's not hard to believe that Kirkorov really hears his songs from colleagues for the first time today. Sometimes emotions overwhelmed him so that he literally ran out onto the stage after the number with words of delight and gratitude.

It so happened that this summer Philip and I met at Disneyland. He was with his children, I was with mine. We had breakfast and dinner together, spent a lot of time. The children became friends, and my eldest son Danechka looked after Alla-Victoria so touchingly, gave her so many gifts, he was shy ... And then one day we began to talk about a creative evening. Philip said that all the major hits had already been snapped up, and I said, not counting on anything, that I really like one of his last songs - "Love or Deception". He wanted to perform it himself, but as a noble artist yielded it to me. I was overjoyed.
One of the numbers in the program went to Alsou, but the singer was forced to miss the rehearsal. But his monologue dedicated to the song that Alsou chose - "You tell me cherry", Philip read from the stage.
I have always liked this song very much. I put her next to last in the concert program, sang for an encore, which speaks of her status. But Alla did not like her. She said: "Poke it up." The song contains the following words: "You tell me, cherry, why did not love come out" ... And really, I did it. Now I honestly dislike this song. And I don't. But we have democracy at the concert, everyone chose their own composition. I have no right to prohibit, especially since the beautiful singer Alsou chose her.
Before Intars Busulis's performance, Kirkorov told another story - about how his album "Shika Dam" with Russian-language covers of famous oriental hits appeared.
Tarkan and I met at the World Music Awards in Monaco: he received the award for the best artist of the East, and I was chosen as the best artist from Russia. I told him that I really like his song Shikidim, and he gave it to me, one might say. I came back and offered the most famous record company "Soyuz" at that time to release a whole album with an oriental flavor. The album "Shika Dam" was recorded in two weeks and broke all records in the country.
That evening Philip had to concede almost all of his main hits: Polina Gagarina got the song "Heaven and Earth", Vera Brezhneva - "Fire and Water", Nikolai Baskov chose the song "Diva" for himself, Valery Leontyev - the lyric "Snow", and Timati , who not so long ago moved from the category of enemies to the category of Kirkorov's friends, took "The Last Spring" for himself.
