Eiffel Tower in Vegas. Friday. Las Vegas. Observation deck of the Eiffel Tower. Eiffel Tower in Las Vegas

September 4th, 2015

The Eiffel Tower can be called one of the most recognizable architectural structures in the world. But it is also one of the most copied. Many cities and towns around the world proudly stand with their Eiffel towers. These are miniature copies and buildings that exceed the height of the structure of Gustav Eiffel. They can be simple tourist attractions or perform very practical tasks. I’ll try to collect the most famous, remarkable and interesting ones in my post.

Making a copy of the tower is, by and large, not that difficult. Its drawings are available on the Internet, you will still need it welding machine and high-quality fittings. With this small set you can place copies of the Eiffel Tower in every yard.

Blackpool Tower

One of the main attractions of the English city of Blackpool. It was built in 1894. The height of the tower is 158 meters. The idea of construction belongs to the mayor of Blackpool and came to him after visiting the World Exhibition in Paris in 1889. He created a committee of entrepreneurs to raise funds to build a structure similar to the Eiffel Tower in his city. The architects of the project were James Maxwell and Charles Tuke. The Blackpool Tower, unlike the Eiffel Tower, is not a free-standing structure, but is located on the roof of the Blackpool Circus building, which was built specifically for this purpose.

Just as the Eiffel Tower became a Parisian icon, the Blackpool Tower has also become the city's most recognizable landmark and symbol. You can take the panoramic elevator to the top in a minute. Three upper platforms are available for tourists, two of them are open. On the bottom of them there is a piece with a glass floor where everyone can test their courage.

In 2010, the tower was reconstructed: a new observation deck called the Blackpool Tower Eye was added and various attractions were added.

Copenhagen Zoo Tower

The Copenhagen Zoo Tower is a 43-meter tower built of wood in the Danish commune of Frederiksberg. It is clearly visible at the entrance to the Frederiksberg Zoo and Park. The tower was built in 1905 and is one of the tallest wooden observation towers in the world. At its base it copies the Eiffel Tower.

Hotel Paris in Las Vegas

In the center of the composition of the Paris Las Vegas hotel is a copy of the Paris Eiffel Tower. The Paris Hotel was conceived as a corner of France right in the middle of Las Vegas. This intention boiled down mainly to reproducing the Eiffel Tower. The Eiffel Tower of Las Vegas is a copy of the Parisian one on a scale of 1:2, so there is an elevator, an observation deck, and a restaurant. And the hotel rooms offer a view of the tower, so with a well-developed imagination, of course, you can imagine yourself in Paris.
"Paris" opened on September 1, 1999, accompanied by fireworks from the Eiffel Tower. French actress Catherine Deneuve lit the hotel lights at the ceremony. When the Eiffel Tower was built, it was intended to be the full size of its original, but the airport was too close and the height of the tower was reduced.

Ural Paris

In the village of Paris, Nagaybak district Chelyabinsk region the region's largest operator Uralsvyazinform built a tower cellular communications in the form of a copy of the Eiffel Tower. The idea can be considered an extremely successful find for the regional operator Yuzhnouralsky cell phone"(YUUST), owned by Uralsvyazinform, and for the local administration. In fact, the reduced copy (on a scale of 1:5) is not so small - the height of the tower is 50 meters, it dominates the district in about the same way as the original in the capital of France, the Ural village acquired its loud European name after 1812, when the Cossacks, as part of the Russian army, entered the capitals and cities of the defeated states. The winners gave their names to the most seedy villages. Among them are Paris, Berlin, Leipzig. Varna. Now these are not God knows what kind of villages - modest provincial villages. But recently tourists - both native, Russian, and foreign - attract them here not only by the Ural nature, but also by the Eiffel Tower, erected in Paris, Nagaybak district of Chelyabinsk. areas.

The idea of the project belongs to the former head of the Nagaybak region, Kairbek Seilov. The regional authorities hope that the tower will become the hallmark of the Nagaybak region. It was built at the Zlatoust metal structures plant, and the local cellular operator ordered and paid for the work of the Ural craftsmen. Yes, in fact, he still had to build a transmission tower, but here came the opportunity to do it with some grace. Equipment from the French company Alcatel is installed in the YUST network. So the Eiffel Tower in the Chelyabinsk region is French not only on the outside, but also in terms of electronic filling. Operators have been stylizing cell towers to resemble certain landscape elements for several years now. Of course, in terms of the scale and originality of the idea, the Ural creation surpasses everything that came before.

Eiffel Tower in Romanian Slobozia

The Eiffel Tower in Slobzia, in the south-eastern part of Romania, is 54 meters high and is an exact copy of the Eiffel Tower in Paris. The tower is part of a tourist complex built by a Romanian billionaire. The complex also includes the Dallas Ranch. At night the tower is illuminated.

Mini Eiffel Tower in Varna

A mini model of the Eiffel Tower is located in the Bulgarian city of Varna, in the Golden Sands resort. The height of the Eiffel Tower is 32 meters; there is a cafe at a height of 6 meters. The tower became the resort's main attraction and a popular meeting place. In the evening the tower is illuminated and takes on an impressive appearance.

Tokyo TV Tower

Tokyo Tower is a television and radio communications tower located in Tokyo's Shiba Park. The height of the tower is 332.6 meters, which at the time of its construction made it the tallest steel structure in the world and is still the tallest architectural structure in Japan. It has a lattice structure and, in accordance with aviation safety standards, is painted in international orange and white colors. The tower is included in the list of the 29 tallest buildings of the World Federation of Tall Towers and ranks 13th among them. Built in 1958, the tower was originally intended for television broadcasting to Tokyo and the Kanto region. On at the moment The antennas at the top of the tower are used to broadcast television and radio signals from Japan's largest television networks NHK, TBS and Fuji Television. Hisakichi Maeda, founder and president of Nippon Denpatō, originally intended to build a tower larger than the then-era Empire State Building. the tallest building in the world, extending up to 381 meters. But due to lack cash and materials, this idea had to be abandoned at the design stage. Tatyu Naito, who had previously built many high-rise buildings throughout Japan, was appointed as the chief architect of the new project. Critically assessing the experience of the Western world, Naito took as a basis the French Eiffel Tower, erected in Paris back in 1889.

In addition to its main purpose - transmitting television and radio signals, the tower also serves as a tourist attraction and is considered one of the symbols of Tokyo. Every year, more than 2.5 million tourists visit the observation decks, halls and museums of the tower, and in total, about 150 million people have visited it since its opening. At an altitude of 145 meters there is a two-story main observatory; in addition to it, a small special observatory located at an altitude of 250 meters is also available to visitors. Tokyo Tower is often used as a setting in films, anime and manga, and also serves as an indication that the events take place in Tokyo.

Petřín Tower

The Petřín Tower was built on the hill of the same name in Prague on the initiative of the Czech Tourists Club after visiting the World Exhibition in Paris in 1889, and is similar to the Eiffel Tower. In 1890, it was Vilem Kurz who wrote the article “The Observation Tower on Petřín Hill - a view from the near future of Prague.” With a construction initiative in Prague's Petřín district observation tower. The tower is built of metal. The weight of the structure is about 170 tons. The tower's designers were engineers František Prášil and Julius Soucek.
Construction began on March 16, 1891, and on August 20 its grand opening took place. The height of the tower is 60 meters. After the installation of a television antenna on it in 1953, the tower grew another 20 meters. It was the first television relay station in the Czech Republic, which operated until 1998, when a new television tower was opened in Žižkov. The observation deck of the tower, located at an altitude of 55 meters, offers a magnificent panorama of Prague with all its attractions, picturesque hills and surroundings. In 1999, restoration work was carried out on the tower.
On the lower level of the tower there is a souvenir shop and a small cafe, and on the underground level there is a small museum of the literary character Jara Cimrman.

Perhaps the leading country in the number of copies of the Eiffel Tower (as well as in the number of all kinds of copies in general) is China.

Eiffel Tower in Tianducheng (near Hangzhou)
Located in the resort town of Tianducheng. Tianducheng is being built in the suburbs of Hangzhou as a town luxury houses in the style of French mansions. In the center of this town there is a copy of the Eiffel Tower. True, due to high housing prices, Tianducheng is still sparsely populated, but many tourists come to see the theme park and the area built in the French style.

Eiffel Tower in Shenzhen

One of the most famous attractions of the Chinese city of Shenzhen is the Window of the World theme park. Window of the World is a collection of about 150 replicas of world attractions and monuments. Some of the copies are smaller, and some are up to two-thirds the size of the original. The focus is of course on Europe, with the British Parliament, the Eiffel Tower and the Colosseum of Rome recreated. Naturally, there are the pyramids, the Taj Mahal and Ankgor Wat. The miniature shows the Capitol and Manhattan with the Trade Center towers still standing. In the evenings they put on impressive laser and light shows. Window of the World Park is a great way to admire all the significant architectural creations of mankind.

The "Chinese Eiffel Tower" globe in front of it is a stage, it opens in the evening for the performance.

The city of Foshan also has its own version of the “symbol of France”

and on the roof of a house in provincial Wanxiang

And finally, I would like to add that our city also has its own copy of the world-famous Parisian building. It is located at the entrance to the French House shopping center. Our tower, although not large, has also become a kind of landmark. It looks especially cool at night when illuminated with colorful lights.

Eiffel Tower, looks like Paris. Nope, Las Vegas. See the American flag on the side? This is a Paris hotel-casino, which in addition to the tower has the Arc de Triomphe and the facade of the Grand Opera. True, everything is in a reduced form, but it is recognizable and gives a French flavor. Inside are Parisian streets, paving stones, bridges, openwork lanterns and signs to French. Last time, this time I decided to go up to the observation deck at the top of the tower.

The height of the American Eiffel Tower is 165 meters, which is about half the height of the original. The observation deck is open from 9:30 to 0:30, on weekends until 1:00. However, access may be closed due to bad weather. Tickets cost $11.50 during the day, from 19:15 - $16.50. But if it’s your birthday, they’ll let you in for free!

There is almost no queue near the elevator. And here I am at the top!

The famous fountain of Bellagio. I hoped he would dance when I was upstairs. Smart guy, he lived up to expectations :)

Freshly built Aria. Last time I was there, it had just opened.

Main building of the Paris Hotel

In general, the hotel is called Elara, but for some reason it says Hilton. Also new, 52 floors.

Near Paris is Planet Hollywood, then the small Showcase Mall and the giant MGM Grand, the one with the lion, remember? Behind it is the little white Tropicana and on the right is a piece of Mandalay Bay. The gray wasteland is the runways of McCarran Airport. I'm telling you, it's very close.

Outside Paris you can see the red roofs of my Super 8. On the left is the Platinum. Between them is the small Ellis Island casino.

Northern direction. Golden Trump Tower, 64 floors, there is a hotel and a condominium. In front of it is the Treasury Island casino hotel, that is, Treasure Island. Across the street from it are Palazzo and Venetian, I will tell you about them separately. In the foreground is the Flamingo Casino, the first to be built on the Strip. I told the story. If you look closely, you can see the inscription Drai's on the lower left, this is just a new club that should open in May (the advertisement was shown).

On March 31, 2014, the world's tallest Ferris wheel, the High Roller, began operating in Las Vegas! This is it. The height reaches 167.6 meters. The wheel has 28 air-conditioned glass cabins, each of which can accommodate about 40 people. Tickets cost $24.95 during the day and $34.95 at night (price does not include taxes). The wheel makes a full revolution in half an hour. It resembles Singaporean, but theirs is slightly lower. In the near future there are plans to build a similar attraction in New York, there will be a wheel 192 meters high, and in Dubai they want to make it 210 meters high.

Hotel-casino Mirage and a piece of the Caesars' Palace

The Colosseum Theater was originally built for Celine Dion concerts. Elton John later performed there, and currently Cher and Rod Stewart. I’ll also show you Caesars Palace in a separate post.

Meanwhile, the fountain has calmed down, the water is calm, and structures that reproduce “dances” are visible. As you can see, there is a traffic jam on the road. The heat is wild, but it’s good at the top.

The Strip, aka Las Vegas Boulevard. South direction.

The large glass one in the middle is Mandarin Oriental. New 5* hotel and condo, everything is very cool. The hotel lobby is located on the 23rd floor, there are 56 of them in total. The two colorful towers are Veer Towers. If you look at the buildings up close, you will notice that they are built at an angle, as if they are falling.

The observation deck is covered with bars for safety. These holes are made for photography.

This is the last post in a series about a trip to Las Vegas in March 2016. I hope I didn’t bore you too much with a lot of photos and posts, but as they say, “I got the hang of it.” He showed what he wanted and what he could.

On the last evening I decided to go up to the observation deck of the Eiffel Tower of the Paris Hotel. The Las Vegas Tower is a mini replica of the real Paris Eiffel Tower. It is two times lower, the height is 165 meters. The site is located at an altitude of approximately 150 meters above the level of the boulevard.

1. View of the tower from Las Vegas Boulevard

There is an entrance fee; the ticket office is located right at the foot of the tower, inside the Paris casino. There is a small queue for about 10 minutes (on a Friday evening!) and you go up to the second level, in another queue to the high-speed elevators.

2. Path to the elevators.

3. Below is excitement and money.

4.

5. And at the top, in anticipation of the ascent.

6. The first thing you see from the site is a hot air balloon with the Paris casino logo.

7. "Strip" - view to the south. To the left, behind the white building of the Tropicana Hotel, which is being renovated, the airport lights are on. And on the right is a vertical beam of light from the Luxor pyramid.

8. View of the northern part of the "strip" - Caesar's Palace, Mirage, and others

9. The fountain show began at the Bellagio pond. From above it looks enchanting.

10.

11.

12. High Roller Ferris Wheel. It is higher than Singapore.

13. The last look on this trip is at Las Vegas Boulevard, the city of a fairy tale, the city of casinos. See you. Early in the morning on the way back home.

The peculiarity of this unusual attraction is that the design of the fountain is controlled by a computer, the program on which is designed specifically to create the effect of “dance movements”. The fountain successfully “performs” compositions by Madonna, Frank Sinatra, Elton John and about 20 other musical works by world performers. 40 million dollars were spent on the construction of the main decoration of the Bellagio! But there is no doubt that the guests staying in the rooms of one of the most expensive and famous hotels in Las Vegas have fully recouped these costs. A piece of France in Las Vegas, a copy of the world-famous main architectural structure Paris. You can find the attraction next to the hotel, named after the capital of the French state. The design is half the size of its prototype, but looks no less spectacular, especially for those who were not able to see the original.

The creators of the Eiffel Tower in Las Vegas approached its construction with the care of jewelry craftsmen: the structure is not only similar to the French Tower in appearance, but also repeats its entire internal structure. In the depths of the 140-meter structure there was a place for expensive restaurants, elite boutiques and souvenir shops. Here, visitors have a unique opportunity to enjoy the American landscapes of Las Vegas, while being in the atmosphere of Paris, imbued with the romanticism. Address: Las Vegas Boulevard South.

One of the most prominent buildings in Las Vegas. It rises opposite City Hall and is located in the courthouse. The museum exhibits include items from the criminal environment of the 20th century. Here you can see firearms and bladed weapons used in clashes between representatives of criminal gangs, their clothes, shoes and other elements of forbidden life.

Particular attention should be paid to the electric chair, which at one time became the last refuge for many lawbreakers sentenced to death penalty. The Mafia Museum is one of the most famous attractions in Las Vegas and, without a doubt, is worth seeing with your own eyes the history of the criminal world. Address: 300 Stewart Avenue, Las Vegas.

The largest American city, Las Vegas, Nevada, is a world-famous entertainment and recreation center. Since 1941, when the first El Rancho casino opened here, this previously little-known town has become the unofficial gambling capital of the world.

Today, more than 38 million people visit this holiday city every year. More than a hundred casinos, more than one and a half thousand gaming establishments and two hundred thousand slot machines are open to them. This is where the best and largest hotels in the USA are located. Each of them is trying to attract customers unusual design, special buildings and shows that have become attractions not only of the hotels themselves, but also of the city.

Volcano of the Mirage Hotel

Thus, the Mirage Hotel surprises its guests with a decorative volcano, which becomes active in the evenings and spews real smoke and even fire to a height of about 100 feet. This extraordinary show begins at 19.00 and is accompanied by a special musical composition. Rumor has it that this highlight of the hotel was created in order to outdo another Las Vegas attraction - the dancing fountain show at the Bellagio Hotel.

Bellagio Fountains

The mesmerizing dancing fountains located in front of the famous Bellagio Hotel are one of the most popular attractions in Las Vegas today. Every day, on weekdays - from 15:00, and on weekends from noon to midnight, an amazing show unfolds before the audience, created by giant jets of water, streams of light and music. This amazing spectacle is mesmerizing, especially in the evening when the fountains are beautifully illuminated. The best part is that you can watch this show absolutely free. Located at the Bellagio Hotel is another famous local attraction - an art gallery.

Bellagio Fine Art Gallery

Art lovers will certainly appreciate the fine art gallery of this large hotel, because its exhibits include works by famous artists, including paintings by Picasso, Monet and Vincent van Gogh. Moreover, the exhibition of the Bellagio gallery is constantly updated. Temporary exhibitions are regularly held here, where you can get acquainted with the works of European and American masters - exhibits from various museums and private collections.

Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay

Another attraction of the city is no less popular among city guests - the oceanarium created at the Mandalay Bay Hotel. Nowadays it is home to about two thousand marine animals, including piranhas, turtles, jellyfish, sharks and crocodiles. You can see them by walking along a glass corridor surrounded by water or by scuba diving into a special container with fish.

Eiffel Tower in Las Vegas

Las Vegas also has its own Eiffel Tower - naturally, a copy of the famous Parisian landmark. It is located near the hotel-casino with the appropriate name – “Paris”. This hotel was conceived as a piece of France in the middle of the American desert. And today its visitors can really feel like they are in Paris, looking out the window at a halved copy of the business card of the French capital.

Pyramid "Luxor"

Another popular hotel-casino in Las Vegas, the Luxor, is made in the shape of an Egyptian pyramid. This 110-meter glass casino is today one of the city's most popular attractions. This unusual building looks especially impressive when a powerful beam shoots into the sky from the top of the pyramid. It can be seen at a distance of several hundred kilometers from the pyramid! The spectacle is truly impressive.

Stratosphere Tower

However, the championship among hotel attractions in Las Vegas, perhaps, remains with the Stratosphere Tower. From this 356-meter tower you can admire the views of one of the brightest cities in the world from at least a bird's eye view. This tower is the tallest not only in Las Vegas itself, but in all of America. Moreover, this is not just an observation deck, it is an operating hotel, where on an area of more than 7 thousand square meters There are about 2.5 thousand top class rooms. In addition, the highest American attractions are located here, so the release of an incredible amount of adrenaline to its visitors is guaranteed.

However, to be fair, it should be said that not all the attractions of Las Vegas are located only in its popular casinos and hotels. There are also museums among them. Many have very original themes.

Erotic Heritage Museum in Las Vegas

So, in 2008, a museum was opened in the city, designed to bring sex education to the world through the language of art. All of its exhibits are on relevant topics. Among them are Playboy covers and posters that were made to raise the spirit of American soldiers during the war. It is interesting that this unusual museum constantly hosts meetings, various educational lectures of an erotic nature and master classes.

Las Vegas Nuclear Test Museum

And the most serious attraction of the city of entertainment, without a doubt, is the nuclear testing museum. Founded in 2005, it is entirely dedicated to the history of American nuclear testing conducted at the Nevada Test Site since 1951.
