Ingredients

  • one kg bell pepper
  • half a kg of tomatoes
  • one onion
  • small bunch of parsley
  • 25 grams granulated sugar
  • 10 ml sunflower oil
  • 2-3 garlic cloves

Preparation:

1. Wash sweet, fleshy bell peppers with cold water and prick them in several places with a fork. We will not remove the stalks with the seed capsule. To make the dish look more elegant and appetizing, it is advisable to use peppers of different colors.

2. Prepare tomato dressing. To do this, fry in vegetable oil finely chopped onions. While the onions are frying, let's start with the tomatoes. Pour boiling water over the tomatoes for 1-2 minutes, then peel them and chop them with a knife, or do it simpler: cut the tomatoes into two parts and grate each on a coarse grater. Discard the remaining peel. When the onion turns golden, combine it with the tomato mixture, add salt, sugar and simmer the mixture under the lid until the tomatoes are ready. You will get a homogeneous mass. Add garlic and chopped parsley, mashed with a small pinch of salt. Mix the tomato mixture well and remove from the stove.

3. Fry the bell pepper in vegetable oil on all sides.

4. Place the peppers on a large flat plate. Pour hot tomato mixture over it and let it soak for 10 minutes.

The dish is ready. Fried peppers are served cold as an appetizer for meat dishes. Bon appetit!
